Abstract
All unilateral cleft lip and nose patients have deformities of the nose and surrounding area which causes aesthetic and functional problems.

The major deformities are curving of the nasal tip to the opposite side of the cleft; and curving of the columella and nasal septum to the normal side with ipsilaterally undeveloped pyriform aperture of the maxilla which results in the sunken maxilla.

Several different methods, to correct the deformities, have been introduced, but none of the methods are satisfactory in results.

The authors performed suture fixation technique of alar cartilage using Tajima¡¯s reverse-U incision and nasal septoplasty at the same time in 8 patients with relatively mild unilateral cleft lip and nose deformities with satisfactory results.
